Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7
Most anti-ageing peptides argue about collagen. Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 argues about inflammation: the case for it is that it lowers interleukin-6, the messenger skin cells release after ultraviolet exposure, which would blunt one of the routes by which sun damages skin over years. It is best known as half of Matrixyl 3000 and is almost always sold blended with palmitoyl tripeptide-1. The clean test has never been run, and this record names the gaps rather than glossing them: no study on file isolated the ingredient from its blend, no randomised trial of it exists, and the concentration figures on ingredient lists come from suppliers rather than from any trial that varied the dose.
