Metabolic & Weight Management
Adiponectin
Adiponectin is a hormone that fat tissue itself releases, telling muscle and liver to burn fatty acids and take up glucose through the AMPK and PPAR-alpha pathways. It is one of the molecules that turned body fat from inert padding into a recognised endocrine organ, and the literature followed: nearly 83,000 papers carry the name, almost 39,000 of them since 2020. Almost all of that is measurement rather than medicine, with adiponectin read off a blood test as a marker of insulin sensitivity and cardiometabolic risk. Every human study on file is observational, and the one administered version, a receptor agonist, has reached Phase 1.

Mechanism
Signals at AdipoR1 and AdipoR2 to activate AMPK and PPAR-alpha, raising fatty-acid oxidation and glucose uptake.
