A transcription factor in C. elegans that regulates stress resistance and longevity. Activation of DAF-16 is associated with extended lifespan.
Why it matters here
It appears in lifespan findings reported in Caenorhabditis elegans, a nematode. No compound in this corpus is graded on a DAF-16 result, and a nematode study grades as animal in vivo here, which is not human evidence.
What it is not
A nematode gene. A finding in C. elegans is not a finding in a person, and nothing here converts one into the other.
